History
The Ryvanz-Mia Childcare International began in August 2006, with Mrs. Regina Esime Djentuh (a.k.a. Mama Esi) caring for the orphaned children of Kpando Village. Having lost her own father at a young age, and her children having lost their father, Mama Esi decided to offer herself to care for the orphaned children of Kpando and its surrounding area. With limited funds, Mama Esi and her children converted their home into an open space to accommodate orphan children. Relying on her personal funds and selling homemade pastries,Mama Esi was able to expand the orphanage and take in more children. Today, she has 13 children under her parental care, ranging in age from four to 14-years-old. Venunye Djentuh (a.k.a Venus) is the Director of Ryvanz-Mia. Childcare International Having worked in the teaching field for over twelve years; he gained quite an affinity for the wonderful kids. After learning more of their needs, he determined to establish Ryvanz-Mia Childcare International as a non-profit, non governmental organization registered with the Registrar-General G-22.444 in 2007 and the Department of Social Welfare D.S.W/3951 in Ghana.
Future Plans
To address the growing need in Kpando, the organization is planning to acquire land for a new orphanage which can accommodate many more children. Ryvanz-Mia Childcare International welcomes the support of volunteers and donors to assist in their efforts to provide the orphans of Kpando with quality care, instill the values of education, and promote healthy development.
